In July 1999 the then Duchess of Devonshire opened the new Medway Community Centre, which was built by local people; this year we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary of service to the population of Bakewell and surrounding villages. As you may know, the Centre hosts all sorts of events that help increase the wellbeing of Senior Citizens, combatting loneliness and isolation and providing a fabulous space for theatre and music performances. In addition the facilities host all manner of personal celebrations and various health and well being groups.
As a Registered Charity, the Centre continually needs to raise funds. So, we are asking you to support our “Adopt a Seat” campaign to replace the Centre’s stacking chairs. In recognition of a donation, your name or dedication will be added to the Roll of Honour which is displayed in the Alan Pigott Hall; you will also receive a Certificate of Appreciation and be acknowledged in local promotion of the Campaign.
There are many reasons to adopt a seat: the memory of a loved one, marking a special occasion, as a gift, to promote your business or just to help us keep the Centre in good stead for future generations.
A donation of £95 would cover the cost of a seat. Simply call us on 01629 813638 or email us at enquiries@medwaycentre.co.uk and we will guide you through the process.
Your generosity WILL make a difference and be intrinsic to our survival.
We really hope you will consider supporting this fantastic scheme and if you require any further details please do not hesitate to get in touch.
With sincere thanks
The Medway Community Centre team
