Bakewell Oxfam Supporters Group invites you to come and enjoy a sumptuous continental breakfast (with tea, coffee, croissants, cheeses, cold meats, fruit platters, cakes and much more) as Derbyshire based Steve Salfield Quartet provide a background of mellow jazz – with old standards, original compositions as well as some unusual tunes from a variety of sources.
Bring the family and friends, relax, chat or read the papers (which we will provide).
The Steve Salfield Quartet is a band of local professional musicians. On tenor and soprano saxes, Steve has played in contemporary jazz groups, blues and rock’n’roll bands, and classical orchestras. His music melds influences from all of these experiences, ranging from rich and mellow to full and raunchy, supported by Wendy Kirkland on keyboard – (a well known pianist, organist and vocalist who leads her own band), Pat Sprakes on double bass and guitar and Clive Loveday, an inventive drummer.
